Unashamed Worship

It all comes down to this… March Madness has turned into Final Four action to take place in just a few days.  These athletes have worked their entire lives for the one shining moment on the big stage.  And the fans, some representing multiple generations of dedication, will be in the arena and in homes and bars across America with their fists pumping, high fiving, and shouting, “Let’s go!” when their team takes back the lead. It’s dedication.  These fans are diehard.  They bleed their team’s colors!  They don’t care where they are, they will stop what they’re doing and focus on what matters most – seeing their team fight for the victory.

What if we worshiped God with that same passion and freedom?

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:24 (ESV)

Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman, explaining that true worship isn’t about a place—it’s about the heart. God desires worship that is genuine, honest, and led by the Holy Spirit.

Unashamed worship means giving God everything—our hearts, our lives, and the very breath in our lungs—without worrying about what others might think. He calls us to recognize His worth and respond with love, thankfulness, and true worship.

Think of King David when he “danced before the Lord with all his might” (2 Samuel 6:14). Despite others mocking him, Davidrecognized the significance of the presence of God coming back to Jerusalem, and he didn’t hold back because his heart was set on honoring God. In the same way, we are called to worship freely—whether we’re in church, at home, or in our daily routines. Worship a lifestyle of honoring God with every thought, word, action, and attitude.

This week, challenge yourself to worship God boldly. Take a moment each day to praise Him—whether through singing, prayer, or simply thanking Him. Don’t let fear or pride hold you back. Choose to focus on God’s goodness and let your heart respond with joy and freedom.  And who knows… if you’re overcome with joy, dance for the Lord!  Or you can at least throw your hand in the air and say, “Let’s go, Lord!”

Let’s pray this together over the coming days: Lord, help me to worship You with my whole heart—without fear or shame and with passion! Teach me to focus on Your truth of Your Word and to honor You in all that I do. May my worship be pleasing to You and point others to Your love. Amen.
